What we collect
Through this website: the name, phone number, email address, destination and study level you enter in the enquiry form, plus anything you choose to write in the message field. If you become a client we also collect the documents your application requires — transcripts, passport details, financial evidence — but never through this website.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry, advise you on your options, and prepare an application if you ask us to. Nothing more.
Who sees it
The GECSC department handling your case. Where an application requires it, the relevant university and the relevant embassy. We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to any other company for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become files are kept for one year. Client files are kept as long as the law and the institutions involved require.
Your choices
Write to info@gec.edu.af and ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will act within thirty days.

These terms cover the use of this website and the general basis on which we advise. The agreement you sign when a file is opened is the document that governs your case.
Decisions are not ours to make
Admission decisions belong to universities. Visa decisions belong to embassies and immigration authorities. GECSC prepares, checks and presents your application to the highest standard we can. We do not promise, guarantee or influence any outcome, and nobody at GECSC is authorised to tell you otherwise.
The information on this site
Requirements, costs and deadlines change without notice. Everything published here is guidance, not a quotation. The figures that apply to you are the ones we confirm in writing for your case.
Fees
Consultation is free. Service fees are set out in your agreement before any file is opened, together with what is included and what is not. Third-party costs — tuition, embassy fees, insurance, tickets — are separate and paid to those parties.
What we need from you
Documents that are genuine, complete and accurate. We do not submit an application we know to be false, and we end an engagement where a client asks us to.

GECSC is registered and licensed by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan, is a member of the Union of Educational Consultancy Companies, and is registered with ICEF International.

Country guide
France — where Afghan students skip a step everyone else has to take.
Seventy-three countries must file through the Campus France "Études en France" procedure before they may even apply for a visa — interview, dossier, the lot. Afghanistan is not one of them. Afghan applicants apply directly to the institution and then straight to the visa. It is one of the few routes where our students face less process than their neighbours, not more.

From Kabul
No Campus France dossier — but the visa goes abroad
Because Afghanistan sits outside the Études en France procedure, there is no Campus France file and no pre-visa interview: you apply to the school, then to the visa. The French Embassy in Kabul has suspended its visa service, and the French Ministry states plainly that applications from residents of Afghanistan are handled by the embassies in India, Iran or Pakistan. In Pakistan the operator is not the one most people assume — it is AEG French Visa Services, and files are received in Islamabad only. We confirm which post is accepting student files before your documents move.
Money
€877.50 a month — raised this year
France now asks student visa applicants to show €877.50 for every month of the stay. That rose from €615 on 1 August 2026 — a 43% jump that has caught out files prepared to last year's figure. The visa itself costs €50.
Tuition
Public university, at four figures
Public universities charge non-EU students a "differentiated" rate of €2,902 for a licence and €3,950 for a master's in 2026/27 — while the standard French rate is €178 and €255. Many universities exempt international students down to the standard rate, though some now cap that at a share of their intake. A doctorate is €398 for everyone, regardless of nationality. Private business and engineering schools are a different market: roughly €6,000 to €18,000 a year, and well above that at the top.
After arrival
Two payments nobody warns you about
Before you can enrol you must pay the CVEC, the student life contribution — €105 for 2026/27 — and obtain its certificate even if you are exempt. Then, within three months of arriving, your visa must be validated online or it lapses. That validation carries a €100 tax, doubled from €50 on 1 May 2026. Neither appears on most consultancy pages, and missing the validation deadline costs students their status.
Working
964 hours a year, not twenty a week
France sets the student work allowance as an annual figure — 964 hours, sixty per cent of full-time — not a weekly cap. That is a meaningful difference: you may work heavily over the summer and lightly in term, so long as the year totals 964. Internships that form part of your programme do not count against it.
After graduation
Twelve months to find work
Master's graduates may apply for the "recherche d'emploi ou création d'entreprise" permit: twelve months, not renewable, with unrestricted permission to work or start a business. It must be requested before your student card expires — leave it late and the route closes.

Its programmes carry the state diplôme visé at both bachelor and master level and the Grade de Master. Fees from September 2026: €11,000 a year for the Grande École programme, €12,500 for M1 and M2.

Thirty-eight French institutions appear in the QS 2027 world ranking. Living costs run roughly €600–800 a month, with Paris about 19% above the national average; CROUS student housing opens to international students only in its second allocation phase, so it should never be assumed. The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship pays €1,200 a month at master's level — but only an institution may apply on your behalf, never the student. Figures checked September 2026 against Campus France, France-Visas, service-public.fr, etudiant.gouv.fr and the schools' own fee schedules.
Canada — the rules changed, and most advice online has not caught up.
Canada rewrote its international student rules between 2024 and 2026: a national cap on study permits, a provincial attestation letter, a higher money requirement, new conditions on the post-study work permit, and the closure of the fast-track stream. Guides still quoting the old numbers will get your application refused.

Money
CA$23,448 — and it went up this month
A single applicant outside Quebec must show CA$23,448 for living costs, on top of the first year's tuition and your travel. That figure rose from CA$22,895 on 1 September 2026, and it is revised every year. Anyone still quoting CA$20,635 is two revisions behind — that number was correct in 2024 and will fail today.
From Kabul
You will have to leave the country for biometrics
Canada has no visa office and no application centre anywhere in Afghanistan. Immigration Canada's rule is that where no centre exists you may use any other, so Afghan applicants give biometrics abroad — Islamabad, Karachi or Lahore; Dushanbe; Ankara or Istanbul; Abu Dhabi or Dubai; or New Delhi. There is no centre in Iran. That means a valid passport and a visa for the third country before you can finish the application, and the clock is short: biometrics are due within thirty days of the request letter. We plan this into the timeline from the first meeting.
The cap
A national limit, and a letter from the province
Canada is issuing 408,000 study permits in 2026, down 7% on 2025 and 16% on 2024. Most applicants now need a Provincial Attestation Letter, which your university or college requests on your behalf after you are admitted — provinces hand each institution a fixed allocation, and when a school's allocation is gone, it is gone. The practical lesson is to apply early in the cycle. One important exemption: master's and doctoral applicants at public institutions no longer need a PAL from January 2026.
After graduation
The work permit now depends on what you studied
The Post-Graduation Work Permit runs up to three years, and a master's graduate gets the full three even if the degree took less than two. But college and non-degree programmes must now be in a field tied to a long-term labour shortage — bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees are exempt from that test. There is also a language floor: CLB 7 for university graduates, CLB 5 for college graduates. Choosing the wrong college programme can quietly cost you the work permit, which is why we check the programme, not just the school.
Costs
What it really costs
Statistics Canada puts the average international undergraduate tuition at CA$41,746 a year and international postgraduate at CA$24,028. College and vocational programmes are far cheaper, roughly CA$16,000 to CA$25,000. Budget around CA$23,000 a year to live on — the same order as the money the permit requires you to show, which is not a coincidence.
English
No government test — but the university still asks
Since the Student Direct Stream closed in November 2024, Immigration Canada requires no language test at all for a standard study permit. Every English requirement you face comes from the institution: typically IELTS 6.5 for universities and 6.0 for colleges. Whether Duolingo is accepted is entirely the school's decision, not the government's.

Germany — where the degree is free and the bank account is the hard part.
Public universities in fifteen of Germany's sixteen states charge no tuition at all, to anyone, from anywhere. What Germany asks for instead is proof that you can support yourself — and that requirement, not the academic one, is where most applications fail.

€11,904 — and the detail that fails applications
Germany requires a Sperrkonto holding €11,904 for a year. The part applicants miss: you may withdraw only one twelfth of it per month — €992 — and the bank's confirmation letter must state both the total and the monthly figure. A letter showing only the balance is rejected. The amount is tied by law to the German student grant rate, so it moves when that moves; we confirm the figure in force on the day your file is prepared.
From Kabul
Where an Afghan application goes now
The visa section of the German Embassy in Kabul is closed. National visas for Afghan nationals — student visas included — are handled by the German missions in Islamabad and Tehran. Since mid-2026 study and work applications from Afghans are submitted through the Federal Foreign Office's online consular portal rather than an appointment waiting list. One relief: the APS certificate is not required for Afghan applicants — that test applies only to China, Vietnam and India. Your Tazkira must accompany the passport, and the names on the two must match exactly. This is a common and entirely avoidable refusal.
What it does cost
Free tuition is not free study
Every student pays a semester contribution — a few hundred euros covering administration and, importantly, a national public transport ticket. Baden-Württemberg is the exception on tuition: non-EU students there pay €1,500 per semester. Private universities charge properly, commonly €10,000 to €20,000 a year. Health insurance is compulsory and runs roughly €140 a month for a student. The visa fee is €75, and uni-assist charges €75 for your first application and €30 for each one after.
Language
German at C1, or English at 6.5
For a German-taught degree you need roughly C1: DSH-2, or TestDaF with level 4 in all four sections, or Goethe C2, or telc C1 Hochschule. But Germany also runs close to 2,000 English-taught programmes, mostly at master's level, where a typical requirement is IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 94. Which route you take changes your timeline by a year or more, and it is the first thing we decide together.
After graduation
Eighteen months to find the job
Graduates receive a job-seeking residence permit of up to 18 months, during which you may work without restriction while you look. From there the route is the EU Blue Card: the 2026 salary threshold is €50,700 a year, or €45,934.20 for shortage occupations and for graduates whose degree is less than three years old.
While studying
140 days of work a year
Non-EU students may work 140 full days or 280 half-days per calendar year — about twenty hours a week averaged out. University assistant posts and internships required by your course do not count against it. The allowance resets each January and does not roll over.

Ireland — the English-speaking country inside the EU.
Since Britain left, Ireland is the only English-speaking member of the European Union and the eurozone. You study in English, graduate with an EU degree, and sit in the same country as the European headquarters of most of the world's large technology and pharmaceutical companies.

The visa
What the Irish student visa asks of you
You apply for a long-stay "D" study visa before travelling, through the online AVATS system. Ireland requires proof of €10,000 available for each year of study — €833 per month for shorter courses — and you must have paid your tuition first: the full amount if fees are under €6,000, otherwise at least €6,000. Private medical insurance is compulsory. The visa fee is €60 single entry or €100 multiple entry, and Afghanistan is not on the fee-exemption list. The Immigration Service aims to decide in about eight weeks.
From Kabul
Where an Afghan application is actually processed
Ireland has no mission in Kabul. Applications from Afghanistan are handled by the Irish Visa Office at the Embassy of Ireland in Abu Dhabi, and Afghanistan is one of the few countries whose papers go directly to that embassy by courier rather than through a visa centre. Your documents must reach them within thirty days of starting the online form. This is the detail that catches most applicants out, and it is the part we handle.
Costs
Tuition and living, honestly
Undergraduate tuition for non-EU students runs roughly €11,000 to €29,000 a year depending on university and subject — science, engineering and computing sit at the top, medicine far above it. Taught master's degrees run roughly €9,000 to €36,000. The Irish Council for International Students puts living costs at €10,000 to €20,000 for a nine-month year, with accommodation the largest item and everything cheaper outside Dublin.
English
Two different English thresholds
The visa office and the university do not ask for the same score, and students are regularly caught by this. The visa minimum for degree study is IELTS 5.0, TOEFL iBT 61 or Duolingo 75. The university minimum is higher — typically IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0, or TOEFL iBT 88, and more for some programmes. We prepare you for the university's number, not the visa's.
After graduation
The Third Level Graduate Programme
Ireland lets you stay and work after you finish. An honours bachelor's graduate receives twelve months; a master's or PhD graduate receives twelve months renewable for a further twelve — two years in total. During that period you may work up to forty hours a week in any sector, with no salary threshold.

Government of Ireland scholarships
The Higher Education Authority awards 60 international scholarships for 2026/27: a €10,000 stipend plus a full waiver of tuition and registration fees for one year of a master's, postgraduate diploma or PhD. Applicants must be domiciled outside the EU, EEA, Switzerland and the UK. The deadline is 12 March 2026. Universities run their own awards alongside it.
